Power; Porous skin. For a long time now, since his wife's death, Xie has had the ability to emit an acidic substance from his pores. It's clear, almost like a sweat, and flows underneath his skin, waiting to be used. It burns most soft things- plastic, paper, flesh if they come into contact with the substance. It does not burn Xie's own skin as his skin has adapted to the foreign substance in his body, and comes in handy during battle. However it will singe clothes and hair, and can be a pain in the ass at times. Xie can control it unless he's really really annoyed. Nothing shows up on his medicals though- the only unnatural thing doctors can see is that his blood type is a rare form of O. Comming into contact with him during battle would and will be painful.

Background; Well Xie's destiny was always pretty much screwed. He knew from a young age that he would be an Angel of Beijing. He knew very well what would happen to the world and the part he would take in it. And he also knew very well about his future son. This was all due to the fact that his mother had been a Dreamseer. She killed herself when he was fourteen, but not after disclosing what was to come. It was very brief and not overly detailed. From the age of fourteen, Xie knew he was a)an angel, b) an aid to the end of the world, and c)that his own son would become a Seal.

Unlike Dreamseers who know they can't change the future, Xie vowed one thing. He would never have children. Ever. But however, things never ever go as planned. Xie lived his childhood as normal as he could get it, relishing every game of tag, every lesson, and every exam- he'd make people around him happy because in future they would all die. All of them. And, watching the world around him as he grew up, he decided that wasn't a bad thing. People were full of hate- hate of people from other races, countries, religions. Hate from jealousy- so and so married so and so and so forth. Killing them all would not be a bad thing.

As Xie got older, he accepted his beliefs and inheritance more firmly. He did not show distaste or hatred towards humans, he just lived his life as normally as he could until the time came. It wasn't until he was eighteen years old that a spear was thrown into the works. He fell in love with a beautiful woman, Shao Xing Wen. At this time, Xie was about to start a decent fulltime job in an office. He had a decent inheritance from his parents in the bank, but he wanted to keep busy until the time came. Before they married, Xie sat Wen down and spoke to her. He did not want children. Ever. She agreed. A match made in heaven. But, as Seers know, it never happens that way. At the age of 20, Xie was told he was going to be a father- Wen had secretly stopped taking her birth control pills as her brooding impulse had taken over. Xie was horrified and demanded she have an abortion, but she refused. The pregnancy caused a lot of strife in the Jia household- Xie did not want this child to be born, and soon Wen divorced him and moved to her own place. In time, she gave birth to a son- Jia Mao Shi. Xie was horrified and almost compelled at the same time. His son, his little boy...yet to be a Seal... Xie stayed away.

It was after the birth of his son that Xie's power began to manifest itself. He always knew he had a rare blood type, but he was unaware of what really laid beneath his skin. A thin substance, as clear and natural to his body as sweat was. Except sweat didn't burn holes in paper, and sometimes even clothes. It took six months to beable to properly control this and secrete it at will- at which point Xie found himself spending more money on clothes in those 6 months than in his entire life. So this was what it was like to be an angel, the heritage was finally showing itself.

At the age of 23, Xie was struck by another dilemna. Wen had died in a car accident and now he was sat in his house with a three year old boy staring back at him with large eyes. Xie wanted to do something, anything but this. However, he resigned himself to fate leaving it in the hands of higher ups altogether. He started raising his son, even growing to love him as a father properly and not keeping himself at a distance. He knew when the time came, it would hurt a lot, but for the time being he would enjoy his time with his son just as he enjoyed his time with the humans he would soon kill. Soon Shi started developing his own powers and he concentrated on helping him control them. It took seventeen dogs before Shi could control his powers and not make things drop dead by accident. It was at this time Xie realised what had really killed Wen- she had died whilst driving and THEN crashed. He swore he would never tell Shi that- it would break his heart. The final verdict from the morgue had been driving accident, and it'd stay that way. However, the fact the pet dogs weren't dropping dead at random relieved him, and they tried to continue on with their lives as much as possible.


Himself; Xie has two sides to his personality. Most of the time is is happy, almost go lucky at some points. He's game for most things and always willing to have a laugh with his son. He believes that if the world will end he will make the most of it. He does not hate humans enough to go slaughtering them before the time comes, but he'd like to make their last remaining times on the earth pleasant ones. His son included.

Whilst the fact that his son wasn't supposed to have even been born, Xie is taking it very well now. At first he could barely glance at his soon, seeing those big staring eyes looking at him and knowing he'd be killing him- well it was pretty tough. When Shi came to live with him, Xie was distraught and almost completely withdrew into himself. However, after a while he had decided to take the same approach to his son as he did the rest of the world. At some times, it does catch up with him and he'll be sombre and quiet for a while. However, his son always manages to bring him out of it.

As for fighting, Xie isn't against it at all. His martial arts is decent enough, and he isn't scared of the future. Everything is preordained, or so he believes, and he believes that the Higher ups will guide him through life. He is confident in his abilities and future, and believes that Angels will win no matter what. That makes him almost cocky in his fights- he won't loose. Ever. And that leaves him open for the possibility of a very messy death. His attitude? If he is in the fight he's in it. And whilst he's at it he intends to do maximum damage.

Looks; Xie stands at five foot eight inches tall (5'8") and looks every inch the proper China man. Long black hair is tied back into a tail with a simple red band. Xie's hair is a deep shade of black- the kind that shines blue under direct light. Along with his hair, Xie has prominent features. His eyes are a brown flecked with green, and always light up with some thought or other. His nose is regular- a little on the large side but not enough to cause him any concern, even if he does thank whoever the heck lives up there that his son, Shi, did not inherit his nose. Lips are thin, covering regular but nicotine stained teeth.

Xie's body is slim on the verge of thin. Due to his height he doesn't look underfed, but on his biannual checkups, the doctor always tells him to put weight ON. Oh he'll eat, and he'll sometimes steal a bite from one of Shi's candy bars, but the weight just never seemed to put on. His clothes are conservative- never the bright colours, just neutral colours, earthy colours. You'd never find Xie outside wearing bright orange or yellow. Ever.
